Sunshine Coast Elite Retaining Walls started with a simple observation: no two blocks on this coast behave the same way. A retaining wall that works on a sandy coastal block in Bokarina needs a completely different drainage approach to one holding back a clay slope in Maleny or Montville. Over 20 years building across the region — from beachside suburbs like Noosa and Peregian Beach through to hinterland acreage properties — we've built up the kind of site-specific knowledge that only comes from working the ground itself, not just reading the soil report.
What sets us apart is that we don't just build structural retaining walls — we build garden retaining walls too, and treat them as a genuinely different discipline. A structural wall holding back a driveway has different priorities to a low sandstone garden wall meant to blend into a subtropical planting scheme. We do both properly: concrete sleeper, timber, brick, and engineered structural walls for the heavy lifting, and timber, stone, gabion, and rendered block garden walls where the finished look matters as much as the footings underneath it. QBCC licensed, fully insured, and still hands-on with every project after two decades in business.

Slope angle, soil type, drainage paths, and how the wall will actually be used — retaining a driveway, framing a garden bed, holding a pool terrace — all shape the recommendation before we talk materials. That site-first approach means we sometimes tell a client they need less wall than they thought, or a different material to the one they had in mind, because it's the right call for their specific block.
From there, it's about doing the unglamorous parts properly: correctly sized footings, ag pipe and gravel behind every wall regardless of height, and construction that meets Australian Standards whether it's a 300mm garden edge or a 2-metre engineered structural wall. We quote in detail up front, communicate clearly through the build, and hand back a wall — and where relevant, a garden — that's ready to enjoy, not a project that needs revisiting in two years.
